8020 Engineering invites you to a 2-day CFD++ Advanced course. After the course the
participant will have acquired all the necessary knowledge to understand much of
the theoretical background associated with the use of CFD++
Course content:
This training covers the technical background of CFD++ and its application in the
following general areas:
Steady and unsteady solutions of the Navier-Stokes equations with various forms of
turbulence modelling, including specialized treatment of low speed and incompressible
flows via preconditioning.
Compressible flow formulation with perfect gases and real gases as well as reacting
and non-reacting flows.
The CFD++ unified framework for handling structured curvilinear and unstructured
grids, including hybrids and the unified treatment of various cell shapes including
hexahedral, tetrahedral, pyramid and triangular prism cells (3D), quadrilateral and
triangular cells (2D), and linear elements (1D).
Treatment of multiblock patched aligned (nodally connected), patched-nonaligned and
overset grids. Automatic determination of interblock connectivity.
Total-Variation-Diminishing (TVD) discretization based on the novel multi-dimensional
interpolation framework.
Realizable approximate Riemann solvers used to determine interface fluxes. Consistent
and accurate discretization of viscous flux components.
One-, two-, and three-equation linear and nonlinear turbulence models, that do not
require knowledge of distance to walls.
Versatile range of boundary conditions for all types of equation set.
Various time-stepping options including explicit and implicit schemes, relaxation
methods and multigrid convergence acceleration techniques. Dual-time stepping methodology
for time accurate simulations. The use of problem-specific setup wizards.
The implementation on parallel computers based on the distributed-memory message-passing
model. Native message passing libraries, MPI or PVM can be used on a variety of parallel
architecture computers including those available from DEC (Compaq), IBM, SGI, SUN,
HP, and PC clusters.
A rich collection of advanced pre- and post-processing functionality is discussed,
including those for import and export of files, problem setup assistance, grid manipulation
and solution visualization.
All public courses are held at our offices in High Wycombe. Courses run from 0930
